Charlotte Tilbury: Lash Perfection?

Stumbling into Harvey Nichols, Leeds one afternoon, I was excited to see the new Charlotte Tilbury counter which had recently graced our city. Having made a bit of a habit of picking up something from her Selfridges counter every time I visited London due to the amazing product quality, I was more than ready to have the chance to purchase her line closer to home.

Sunday Pick: Pureology Strength Cure

This week's pick is by a haircare brand called Pureology – a brand I came across thanks to A Model Recommends. Having highlighted, fine, blonde hair, I need to take good care of it or it all starts breaking uncontrollably. I've tried a LOT of strengthening shampoos but this has got to be one of my favourites...

Sunday Pick: Ole Henriksen Walnut Complexion Scrub

This weeks fave comes from a fantastic man, Ole Henriksen. If you haven't tried any of his skincare yet, where have you been?! In fairness, the price of these products induces a sharp intake of breath every single time, but man are they worth it.

Six Month Whirlwind

Wow! Never was the word whirlwind been more relevant. Luckily, despite all this I have been good at keeping on top of Instagram, so when I look back over my snaps, it makes me realise just how much has happened and the neglect of my blog becomes clear...

Firstly, I have missed blogging. I started a new job just over 6 months ago which significantly impacted my time – this sort of explains why I dropped off the edge of the earth! But in truth, it's a job I love in an amazing design agency and I can't imagine doing anything else. So it's time to *attempt* to make these two lives collide... I'M BACK – lets hope for some kind of beautiful explosion!

In the mean time, I thought I'd leave you with a visual summary of my time away. California and Nevada, to the countryside, Leeds and London... Beauty, hair and fashion to drinking, feasting and gigging...

Please enjoy my whirlwind!

Making Waves

Recently, I picked up a couple of new items to add to my hair artillery, both with the aim of ultimately helping my hair grow more by damaging it less. Sometimes, I honestly think I have to care for my hair like it's a small child – I'm forever protecting and nourishing it in an attempt to encourage to grow, hell I've even had my roots stretched into my highlighted hair so I can wave bye bye to the bleach! However, my hair is an unruly beast and I'm only too aware that if didn't need to style it on a daily basis, it would probably already be as long as I'd like it.

What's on my face? March

I don't often change my makeup look up drastically, particularly not for a day to day look. However I do like to give little nods to the seasons within my neutral look which I think is a nice way to do it for normal girls who don't have time to get dolled up every day!

February Faves

Hello everybody and welcome to a slightly delayed roundup of my February Favourites. I always tend to do mine a few days late as I always like to look back at the full month before deciding, so basically this may become a theme! This month has been a really great month for favourites with some fab releases, 3 for 2 at Boots and the delayed effects of my January efforts to save... Forget monthly favourites, I think we could be looking at some lifetime favourites here!

Rose Gold Gorgeous: Zoeva Makeup Brushes

Helloooo Beautiful.

Ah – I need to stop, I need to be sectioned! I think I have the biggest rose gold obsession ever...

Anyway, can you blame me? These brushes are not only beautiful, they are really great quality in my opinion. I'd only heard bits and bobs about how good Zoeva brushes are but they are a real pain to get hold of so I didn't bother until this little beauty hit the shelves. You can order online from the Zoeva website for 58 euros, I think it worked out at about £48 but then I had to pay an extra £7.50 for shipping since they're Germany based – yowch! Nonetheless, value-wise these synthetic and natural brushes are fantastic and they even come with this super cute brush clutch which I think will be fab for travelling – I can never fit all my brushes in my makeup bag so that was a nice bonus.

Primark Haulin'

Uh Guys, did I miss the news flash where Primark got kinda good again? Now I am not Primark's biggest fan and I'd say I've avoided it for at least the last two years in which time my occasional 'check-ins' have been fruitless. But since it's pretty much the closest shop to my work, I popped in on my lunch the other day and was actually pleasantly surprised! All this for under £30... now that's a proposition I like.

Six Truly Kiss–Proof Lips

With Valentines arriving at the end of this week, I thought it'd be a good time to discuss kiss-proof lip products which also look fabulous (way better than just a practical slick of lip balm). Not just kiss-specific by any means, they are by far the most practical lip products in my collection and require minimum effort and mirror-checking. The way I see it, you have two options... If you're going quite neutral, you can do anything really from a lipstick to a gloss but you just need formula that has zero stickiness and a nice smooth feeling. If you're going darker, you need something way more hardwearing, something stubborn yet gorgeous looking even with all the drinking, eating and occasional smooching. Challenge outlined, let's begin!

Belated January 'Dobos'

So what did we learn this January? Products not to waste your precious pennies on this year, or actually ever... Sometimes it doesn't matter whether you let your usual research slip for a second in a brief moment of urgency, or whether you've been gathering intelligence on a product for the 6 months prior to purchase – some stuff just ain't good. This month, my disappointing products have been quite limited really with only 4 making it into the pack (and these I'd been testing out for a few months), so I suppose we can call this a good run! Let's hope next month I can get it down to just 3! Or is that wishful thinking?

Pinky Nude Perfection

You know when you look a little bit dead and you just want to slap something on your lips to reinstate the humanness? I always think that day-to-day a nude is ideal – for work, for casual days, for nipping to the shop... but being quite a fair and pale lady, your traditional nude just looks plain gross on me.

What's on my face? January

Since the constant razzle dazzle of Christmas, I've found myself reaching for a more natural and I suppose, slightly romantic palette– hello is that Valentines Day calling!? Some things have admittedly stayed the same since last month though others have inevitably changed (thank you January budget). So without further ado, here's the look that sums up my January face and the products that have made it all possible...

January Efforts to Save

When it comes to hair and makeup, I strongly begrudge wasting my money frivolously in Boots and instead often buy higher end products that are well researched and I know I'll be pleased with. However, with traditional January belt tightening underway as well as having just booked an amazing West Coast USA Road Trip with the other pea in my pod – cheap and cheerful (but still well researched) drug store products have become the order of the day. So what are my picks?

Review: Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks

One of my favourite Christmas gifts this year was the rather lovely Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks Gift set and there's a number of reasons why... The daytime friendly tones, easy to apply formula and the sleek and compact packaging to name a few. I admit, I did pop it on the Xmas list myself but just look at them – can you blame me?
